Controllers

AMAG Technology is one of the few access control systems developers that manufacturers their own hardware. In our case this includes both microprocessor control panels and readers. AMAG´s multiNODE series of controllers are feature-rich panels that meet the demands of today´s global marketplace while maintaining the reputation of AMAG reliability and flexibility.

A multiNODE panel controls a number of doors. The multiNODE controller contains a distributed database detailing who is allowed through each door at what times. The controller database is automatically synchronised with the central system database as changes happen and only the relevant data is sent to each controller to minimize network traffic. Card Readers are connected to the multiNODE controller. The controller provides a very quick response when a card holder presents their badge to the reader and eliminates network traffic and any delays. In the event of network failure the multiNODE will continue to run and will buffer details of the transaction before it is sent to the server. Any alarms are sent to the server using a priority routing.

A wide range of multiNODE controllers is available to suit the requirements of the project. Configurations range from a 2 door controller with 1000 card holder capacity through to 16 doors and more than 200,000 cards.

On-board processing, TCP/IP communication and flash firmware provide our customers the ability to "future proof" their projects with our state of the art functionality, upgradeability and biometric support.

AMAG customers can choose between a wide variety of off-the-shelf readers available on the market or elect to deploy AMAG´s supervised, pseudo-random protocol line of readers that use the best-in-breed technologies from manufacturers like HID, Bioscrypt, and Recognition Systems, Inc. AMAG's own readers provide much higher security and more user features than readers that just use the legacy Weigand protocol.

Every software improvement from AMAG is rigorously tested with all legacy families of AMAG hardware to insure we never leave any customers behind. AMAG´s newest Symmetry Global Enterprise Release v4.0 will still support AMAG´s 20-year old microNODE controllers.

AMAG´s expansive line of highly advanced controller products includes:

• The Symmetry M2150 8DBC Controller provides distributed intelligence and fast response to access requests. Configures up to 16 readers with additional 8DBC door controller and manages 250,000 cardholders. Network up to 32 controllers on a chain to expand. Add additional chains if necessary.
• AMAG´s multiNODE Business Controller is designed to provide a cost-effective, feature-rich companion product to the Symmetry Business access control system.
• AMAG´s multiNODE-2100 (M2100) family of controllers delivers highly configurable single, double or quad remote door capability and builds out to a 16-reader management configuration supporting up to 200,000 cardholders. A modified eight-reader version of the M2100 supports up to 250,000 cardholders as well as biometric template management.
• The AMAG multiNODE-2 products provide modular reader and door controller solutions for up to eight readers and doors per controller. The MultiNODE-2 can function alone or be linked to form a chain of up to 32 controllers.
• The Symmetry Integrated MultiMedia Controller offers access control, alarm monitoring points, outputs and video management. Combine the M2150 with the M2100 and multiNODE-2 with the Symmetry ENVS to create a unique integrated system.
• The Symmetry Edge Network Controller is a Power-Over-Ethernet (PoE) One Door Controller that provides distributed intelligence and fast response to access requests.
